National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition Annual Conference

May 23 @ 10:30 am - 11:45 am

For more than 30 years, the National Energy & Utility Affordability Coalition has hosted the NEUAC annual conference and it’s the nation’s leading annual meeting of energy assistance leaders. Up to 800 attendees gather each summer to take advantage of training and education opportunities as well as to share solutions, common challenges, and to celebrate our successes in helping income-eligible consumers meet their home energy needs.

This year’s LA County Internal Services Department’s Lujuana Medina, Environmental Initiatives Division Manager will be a featured speaker at the conference.

Attend panel on May 23 at 10:30 a.m. Room: Chicago 10: 6F By Community, For Community: Collaborating Across Sectors for an Equitable Clean Energy Transition

Summary of the panel: Southern California Edison (Edison) is an investor-owned utility in California. Edison has created the Clean Energy Access Working Group, which brings together a wide variety of community-based organizations across their service area. The group includes environmental, faith-based, and vulnerable population community leaders. By reflecting the community, they serve, the group can ensure that community concerns are heard and integrated into future energy policies and regulations. The group not only volunteers their time or shares program information but also develops and implements tangible projects. Examples include community solar in a pollution burdened community in LA and creating a web-based platform of educational materials to aid clean energy ambassadors operating in vulnerable communities.

The conference will take place from May 21 – 24, 2024
