Internal Services Department (ISD) will be conducting a simulation to test the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) Protocols in the event of an emergency caused by a natural disaster, accident, terrorist attack, threats to technologies, and infectious disease/pandemic influenza threats, which impacts or has the potential to impact the performance of essential functions.
The ISD Information Technology Service Team (ITS) will test Telecommunications and Network recovery capabilities by monitoring “back up and running” services provided to the various County entities. Some participating ITS Sections are Network Engineering, Operations Engineering, Field Maintenance, Radio Engineering, and Voice and Video.
The purpose of this simulation is to deploy mobile Telecom resources to a remote work location which establishes the testing of Network, VoIP, and Radio Services.
