The Kenneth Hall of Administration Roof Replacement Project is being led by ISD Project Manager John Yee and Roofing Supervisor Charles L. Moore of FOS Alterations & Improvements. The entire existing roof was in need of replacement and is being replaced with a new roof that is energy efficient and when maintained properly, can last beyond 30 years! The Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, which first opened its doors to the public in 1960, is ten stories high, including the penthouse. There are 18 separate roofs which are on multiple levels and include 130,000 square feet. The project started on March 22, 2014 and will take 10 to 12 months to complete. All demolition work for the removal of the old roof will be done at night. This is one of the most complicated projects ever undertaken by the ISD Roofing Unit, which is confident of delivering a successful project completion on time.
